Working with Madderhouse

Madderhouse is excited to collaborate with organizations and artists with creative ideas of all kinds. If you’ve wanted to create a product, project, or art object and are interested in exploring what a Madderhouse spin might look like, please let us know.

Our archive of past projects is only partially viewable here. We’re hoping to have everything on show later this week (Oct 3-9, 2021), so please stay tuned. In the meantime, our social media channels show off many projects completed in course of the past three years we’ve been in business. We’re at @madderhouse_house on Instagram and @madderhousetextiles on Facebook.

Lucky Jackson Dinner Napkins

Living Local “Winterberry” Tea Towels

In the fall of 2018, the Art Gallery of Peterborough approached Madderhouse about creating a customized tote bag for their gift shop. What resulted was a gorgeous, hand screen printed with water-based inks, and hand-constructed with an organic hemp-cotton blended fabric. It was inspired by the striking, outdoor Peter Kolisnyk sculpture on the grounds of the AGP. Our next project is a custom-designed work apron due in the AGP gift shop in summer 2019

In the new year of 2019, local purveyor of all things hand made, Watson and Lou reached out to Madderhouse to custom-create a tea towel the would celebrate the shared but locally-specific olfactory experience of living in Peterborough with an oatmeal factory. The resulting “Oatmeal Capital of the World” tea towels were hand printed onto beautiful hemp and organic cotton cloth in three themes; apples and cinnamon, peaches and cream, and maple and brown sugar. They are continually on request.
