Join feature artist-instructor Melanie McCall for a deep dive into working with the varied and versatile characteristics of cloth as a collage material. Hone your personal artistic style in this immersive, weekend-long experience focused on building compositions. Participants will explore printed, natural, and found materials and a host of studio methods and techniques in a free-flowing and spontaneous style. Maximum 6 participants.

Instructor Bio:

Melanie McCall is a practicing artist and costumer in Peterborough, Ontario. She has a BFA in Textiles from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and furthered her formal education studying Historical Costume Design at Dalhousie University. In her artistic practice Melanie plays with the organic elements of design, and her work crosses forms from costume, surface design and manipulation, puppetry, hand drawing, installation and painting.
